Coach Kimberly Berg, MS, CEP, ACSM

OREGON’S FIRST ROCK STEADY BOXING CERTIFIED COACH

LEADING EXPERT IN EXERCISE AND TRAINING FOR PARKINSON’S

OVER 25 YEARS SPECIALIZING IN SPECIALTY POPULATIONS

Kimberly is on a mission to empower people to take back their fight through specialized exercise and dance.

Her life-long love of dancing led her to pursue a deeper understanding of movement, and to help keep people doing what they love in life.

For over 25 years, Kimberly has trained individuals with a wide range of needs, specializing in Parkinson’s, cardiovascular disease and orthopedic rehabilitation.

Her Parkinson’s focus began in 2006, working with Fay Horak (a world-renowned movement disorder specialist at OHSU), as an expert to research and create the best comprehensive exercise program for people with Parkinson’s. Kimberly realized she could make a huge impact on people’s abilities and help slow their disease.

Kimberly went on to develop a higher intensity exercise program with bootcamps, boxing and dance for people with Parkinson’s disease who wanted to be really challenged.

She was the Exercise Coordinator for the Brian Grant Foundation in 2012 and created the Powering Forward Boot Camp and developed a series of on-line exercise videos for people with PD. She served on a Medical Advisory Board with some of the nation’s greatest researchers in the Parkinson’s world.

Today Kimberly owns the Rebel Fit Club which includes a large Rock Steady Boxing program. Today, there are over 350 fighters in 40+ classes/week all over the Portland Metro and SW Washington areas. Kimberly is a regular speaker at conferences spotlighting her work and the great results the participants are seeing.

Just for Fun

Kimberly is a professional auctioneer and belly dancer. Music and laughter are tools she uses to get her members moving and to generate an overall positive experience. When she is not helping her members fight back Parkinson’s or recover from injuries, she enjoys dancing, hiking, drumming, crafting, and playing with her pets.

Kimberly’s favorite motto is: Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…It’s about learning to dance in the rain.
