Dance Like Everybody’s Watching: We Dance Because We Have Parkinson’s and Because We Can!

The Rose City Rebels hanging out at a bar after the flash mob.

On April 22nd in pouring rain showers, The Rose City Rebels, Kimberly Berg’s Rock Steady Boxing fighters and dancers, gathered at Sellwood Riverfront Park in Portland, OR to celebrate April Parkinson’s Awareness Month by dancing to Michael Franti’s “The Sound Of Sunshine.”

All levels of fighters were represented. Many had never met and some fighters were in wheelchairs, but they were all there for the same reason – to show joy and support each other in this fight against PD.

We had a little technical difficulty, but like Parkinson’s it did not stop us! If you’d like to see the actual dance it starts at minute 12:09 of the video.

We will do again very soon, hopefully you will join us next time.
