Hate Resolutions? If You Have Parkinson’s, Try My “Better Balance, Fall Less” Goal Technique

I’ve been a rehab therapist and trainer for a long time. I’ve seen gyms practically empty in December and packed in January by all the people trying to get into shape, only to have the gym thin out again by Valentine’s Day.

Most people throw themselves into pursuing an image of what they want to look like without planning it or finding someone to help them track progress and hold them accountable. I make sure my clients set goals and plans so they don’t cancel in November or December, because it will set them back. They didn’t need a resolution; they were making progress. January was just another month on their path.

I’ve developed many courses for those who want to focus specifically on certain areas of health and safety, like decreasing their fall risk. I love working with my fighters because they’re willing to take a deeper dive to improve their symptoms and slow their progression. Preventing falls is such an important goal that can be accomplished. It will improve your quality of life and may even save your life.
