
Do you have tight, painful hips? It’s a common symptom with Parkinson’s, which affects all muscles and connective tissue throughout the body. Since just about every lower body movement involves the pelvis and legs in one way or another, it makes sense that if these areas are tight, it will be painful to move.
Secondary to the discomfort of tight hips is the fact that it affects your gait. You have to be able to swing your legs fully to balance when you walk. Also, if you shuffle because of tight hips and balance issues, you are actually perpetuating the tightness, making your balance and gait worse.
