Have Parkinson’s? See if You Have Balance Issues

Are you noticing your balance getting worse? Maybe someone has told you that your balance is pretty good and you don’t really need to worry about it. The truth is, if you’re not working on your balance, it WILL get worse!

If you don’t pass the one-legged stance balance test with your eyes closed for 20 to 30 seconds, you need to work on your balance—NOW!!! It won’t get better by waiting. Ninety percent of people over 50, with or without Parkinson’s, fail this test.

Try this exercise, but—warning!—have walls and a chair nearby. This will challenge your balance.

In this week’s video, I will show you how to not only assess your balance risk, but also improve it with a systematic, building block approach. No matter where you are in your journey, you can always improve your balance through training. Never lose hope!
