Non-Alcoholic Cranberry Sparkler Cocktail

Many of my fighters and dancers are choosing to drink non-alcoholic beverages. People with Parkinson’s often find that alcohol reduces their Levodopa’s effectiveness, and can make their Parkinson’s symptoms worse.

If you find that you’re in the mood for a cocktail this holiday season, you should give this non-alcoholic Cranberry Sparkler at try. It is easy to make, very festive looking, and tastes great! It also contains berries (a super food), which are full of antioxidants and are great “brain-food”. So drink up and enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 45 ml Blackberry puree (you can find this in a bottle in grocery stores)
  • 60 ml White Cranberry juice
  • 75 ml Sparkling Water
  • A few sprigs of Mint

Directions:

  1. Add berry juices together in a glass or champagne flute.
  2. Top with sparkling water.
  3. Garnish with mint.

You can try making flavored ice cubes for your non-alcoholic cocktail by freezing the puree, water, or cranberry juice in ice cube trays. Or you could create other variations by using different types of berry purees, or other flavored sparkling waters (such as raspberry or lime).
