
If you feel unstable while walking and/or you find yourself taking short, shuffling steps, this means you are not shifting your weight from side to side. Some people do this out of fear, while others aren’t getting the correct signals from their brain, which mixes up the normal biomechanics of walking.
Loss of balance and falling are the most dangerous symptoms of Parkinson’s and other neuromuscular conditions. The consequences of a bad fall can be devastating.
This progressive weight-shifting exercise is one I use with my private clients. I love seeing people improve their balance and confidence, helping them to walk better!
